Little Big Diner is getting noticed, for all the right reasons. Don’t be put off by the narrow space where the host or hostess will nearly always tell you it’s an hour (or over) wait. Instead, let’s call it intimate. And the “hour” is closer to fifteen or twenty minutes. Once you’re seated and you inhale the spicy air, the gracious staff are there to the rescue in seconds.
This East Asian diner is lead by owners/chefs David Punch and Daniel Scott of Sycamore, also in Newton Centre. It’s perfect for parties of 2 – 4, a great place for date-night or to grab dinner with a friend, intimate with a lively air. You’ll find the dishes are flavorful, with many spices and surprising combinations. They’re known for their Paitan Chicken Ramen, recently named “Best Ramen” in Boston Magazine’s Best of Boston 2016 list.
Be sure to check the menu (there is no kids menu, in case you’re wondering), and then head on over for a great meal.

***No reservations. But it’s easy to pass the time in the Centre and the times I’ve gone they’ve over-estimated the wait.
