More Halloween Events for Your Calendar!

There’s so much fun planned in the next eight days that we decided to do another Halloween Events post. Get the most from this season by stopping by a few of these great Newton area offerings!

 

Sunday, Oct. 23

*Annual Scarecrow Walk

Nahanton Park Annual Scarecrow Walk – Free Family Fun
Hike along the Scarecrow Trail, Scavenger Hunt, Nature inspired crafts and so much more!!

*Fall Festival @ West Suburban YMCA
245 Church Street, Newton Corner
1:00PM-3:00PM
Come to the Y as they kick-off their annual Open House Week with a Fall Festival outside on the New Balance Track & Field.
Includes: Family Zumba Class from 1:15-1:45, Train rides, Pumpkin Decorating, Curious Creatures, Punt, Pass and Kick, Activity-Climbing Wall

*Newton Mother’s Forum Annual Children’s Halloween Party
John M. Barry Boys and Girls Club of Newton, 675 Watertown St.
3:30-5:30pm
Join NMF for their annual Halloween party featuring The Stacey Peasley Band, crafts, a bouncy house and an optional costume parade for the kids. Bring kids age 7 and under.  ***This event is free for NMF members and $10 (cash only) for nonmembers. All money collected will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club.

*Newton Highlands Haunted House & Halloween Party
Hyde Community Center, 90 Lincoln St., Newton Highlands
5 – 7:30pm
5 – 6pm: Halloween party for children ages 8 and under. Fun and games along with the Parade of Horribles!
6:30 – 7:30pm Haunted House

*Annual Pumpkin Float at Boston’s Frog Pond
4:30pm-6:30pm
Bring the entire family to the annual Pumpkin Float at Frog Pond featuring floating pumpkins, luminaries and fun family activities! Wednesday, Oct. 26

*Newton Free Library – Drop-in for Halloween Crafts
330 Homer St., Newton Centre
1:30 – 3pm
Costumes encouraged! Ages 2 – 5yo welcome to drop in for some fun Halloween craft activities.

Thursday, Oct. 27

*NewTV Studio’s House of Haunts
23 Needham St., Newton
4 – 7pm
It’s that time of the year again when ghouls and goblins will be out looking for a scare! NewTV’s fourth annual House of Haunts is a free family-friendly event offering fun and games for the kids, a costume parade, a scavenger hunt and more.

Friday, Oct. 28

*Sophia’s 12th Annual Haunted House for Charity
18 Washington Park, Newtonville
5:30 – 8pm
Once again, the Barretts have turned their ancient stone basement into a HAUNTED HOUSE filled with spooky stuff, especially for kids! Skeletons… spiders… ghouls… eyeballs… and over 20 live actors! Admission: The $5.00 admission fee gives you a full tour of the haunted house.  All proceeds (100%) are donated to the Greater Boston Food Bank. *Witchapalooza!
Lasell College, 70 Studio Rd. Auburndale
5:30 – 7:30pm
Put some fun into your search for a preschool at the Rockwell Preschool’s Witchapalooza! Free admission includes: live entertainment with Imagine & Move, cupcake decorating, face painting, and more! Pizza and snacks available for purchase.

Saturday, Oct. 29

*Haunted Halls at the Museum of Science
9am – 5pm
All the features you love about the Museum will be here, but with a Halloween-themed twist! This event is free with Exhibit Halls admission. Please note: Some activities are only open to members. More here at the Museum of Science.  

*Fall Fair at Eliot Church
Eliot Church of Newton
9:30am – 3pm
Join for a flea market, kids activities, live music, a bake sale, and more!

Sunday, Oct. 30

*Haunted Halls at the Museum of Science
9am – 5pm
All the features you love about the Museum will be here, but with a Halloween-themed twist! This event is free with Exhibit Halls admission. Please note: Some activities are only open to members. More here at the Museum of Science.  

*Halloween Spooktacular
The Arsenal Project, 245 Arsenal St. in Watertown
11am – 1pm
Join us for a fun-filled, family friendly Halloween event! Includes: Halloween variety show with music & song; Face painting & balloon art; Costume contest & dance party – We welcome kids in costume 12 years of age & younger for the costume contest. Plus complimentary cider & treats.
