Edaville’s Festival of Lights is an annual tradition for many New England families. This year, Edaville was kind enough to offer LiveNewton.net tickets to visit and review their event. Unfortunately, due to colds/viruses/whathaveyou, Jen & I were unable to take our families, but we were happy to extend the offer to one of our readers!
Newton resident Brooke went to Edaville with her family on a late afternoon/early evening trip to experience the park, all dressed up in thousands of lights. Luckily, her family did not encounter a lot of crowds and she said that everything was easy to navigate and that the people working there were helpful and friendly. I asked her about her overall take-away and what the highlight was:
My youngest is just 2 and he had a blast, my oldest is 5 and he also really loved it. I think (kids) much older than 8 wouldn’t enjoy it as much. The nice thing about the rides / Thomas Land is that it is accessible to the little ones (2).They LOVED the Thomas Land rides, especially the helicopter…Brooke
In addition to the fun rides, they all enjoyed “yummy hot chocolate…on the train ride.” They left with an overall feeling that the family had a great time. With that said, this is an honest review and there were a couple areas that could use some improvement. On the lights decorating the train, Brooke noted they were “a bit outdated” but her kids didn’t mind. Later, when her kids were hungry, she was hoping to find a wider variety of meal offerings and, specifically, healthy choices. Brooke felt that there weren’t any healthy options and, consequently, they ended up eating at a restaurant on the way home.
We’re so happy that Brooke and her family had a great time (minor issues, aside). And many thanks to Edaville for sending us tickets to their Festival of Lights!
If you’re interested in visiting Edaville’s Festival of Lights, you need to hurry! Edaville closes for the season after January 1st.
